Founded in 1999, FEWA has been tasked with supplying electricity and water to the Northern Emirates of the UAE, namely Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain, Fujairah, and Dhaid.

ETIHAD WE (EWE) was formed in 2020 pursuant to the Federal Decree-Law No. (31) of 2020 to perform the functions entrusted to The Federal Electricity & Water Authority then. It is fully owned by the “Emirates Investment Authority” and is required to serve the northern emirates’ electricity and desalinated water needs.

Understanding FEWA and Its Services
FEWA, renamed Etihad Water and Electricity (EWE) in 2020, is a government organization tasked with delivering electricity and water services in the Northern Emirates. The name change came after it was moved to the UAE’s sovereign wealth fund with the goal of improving service delivery and operational efficiency.

Service Activation Process
Activating the FEWA services is an easy process, and it can be done online. This is how new residents can activate their FEWA account.
Create an Account: Go to the EWE website and sign up with your personal information.
Access E-Services: Go to the “Services” category, click on “E-Services,” and then on “Customers.”
New Service Activation:
Click on “New Customer Services Activation” and complete the online application form with all the required information and documents.
Approval usually occurs within one day, and electricity and water services are activated within 48 hours. Activation fees differ according to service and customer type, and there is a security deposit payment before activation.

For Emiratis:
- Copy of valid Emirates ID card
- Copy of Family book (Khulasat Al Qaid)
- Title Deed (if present)
- Valid site plan
- Building Permit (required at the time of application)
- Completion certificate (prior to service connection)
- Stamped Load Card by the electrical contractor (approved by EtihadWE)
- Etihad WE approved Land clearance certificate
- Etihad WE technical drawings (electricity and water)
- Copy of accreditation licence of the engineering consultant and electrical contractor
For Tenants:
- Emirates ID or Passport
- Municipality-approved tenancy agreement
For Expatriates:
- Copy of valid UAE ID card/Passport (for non-residents in UAE)
- Title Deed (if available)
- Valid site plan
- Building Permit (mandatory at the time of application)
- Completion certificate (prior to service connection)
- NOC from the Civil Defense Department (submit prior to service connection)
- Stamped Load Card by the electrical contractor (approved by EtihadWE)
- Previously approved Land clearance certificates by EtihadWE
- Etihad WE approved technical drawings (for electricity and water)
- Copy of accredit licence of the electrical contractor and engineering consultant
FEWA Bill Payment Options
FEWA provides various payment options to suit the varied tastes of its customers. These options are made convenient, secure, and efficient for the customers.
Online Payment Options
1. FEWA Quick Pay: The FEWA Quick Pay facility enables customers to make immediate payments without registration or logging into an account. Follow these steps to use this option:
- Go to the Official Website: Go to the Etihad WE Quickpay page.
- Enter Required Details: Enter your FEWA account number (on your last bills) and, if desired, your registered mobile number for verification.
- Submit Your Request: Fill in the captcha verification and click “Submit” or “View Bill.”
- View and Pay Your Bill: View the information of your existing bill, such as the amount payable, billing cycle, and usage charges. You can go ahead with payment through any of the given options like credit/debit cards, internet banking, or mobile wallets.
- No-login option: this is perfect for quick checks or a one-time payment if you’re in a hurry.
2. FEWA Online Account: To get a broader overview of your account, historical bills, in-depth consumption records, and extra services, registration for an online account is highly advised.
- Log in to Registration Page: Use the Etihad Water and Electricity website or access the Etihad WE Mobile App through the App Store or Google Play.
- Fill in Your Details: Enter your email address, mobile number, and other obligatory personal details. Enter your customer or FEWA account number in order to link your billing account.
- Verify Your Identity: The verification code from FEWA is sent to the email address or mobile number you provided during login. Enter the received code to authorize your registration.
- Set a Password: Set your account password through a combination of letters, digits, and punctuation marks and save the password for the next time.
- Log In to Your Account: Login with your registered email address and password to access your dashboard, from where you can easily see all the payment history, order services, and notifications on due dates and consumption.
